COVID-19 Health & Safety Plan

In accordance with CDC Guidelines and NCDHHS Requirements, we have created a health and safety plan for our students and staff

Mountain Pathways School is very grateful to be able to operate all of our classrooms on campus during the pandemic. We continue to monitor best practices and recommendations for child care and school settings to do everything we can to mitigate the risks of the COVID-19 pandemic. In keeping with our Montessori philosophy, we are making consistent efforts to mitigate the stress of our students, staff and families due to the pandemic as well.

Some of the practices we have in place are:

  • Mandatory health screenings for all staff and students prior to entering our buildings.

  • Outside visitors by appointment only and for critical purposes only.

  • Cloth face coverings required for all adults at all times, for children 2 and up when inside the buildings (except when eating, drinking, or during rest time).

  • Special lessons for all children on increased hand washing, proper donning and doffing of face coverings, sanitizing and disinfecting of materials.

  • Additional hand washing for everyone all day.

  • Air Doctor air purifier units have been added to each classroom to reduce germs and viral spread in the air and through the HVAC system.

  • Specified and frequent sanitizing and disinfecting of classroom materials and high touch areas throughout the day.

  • Weekly deep cleaning and disinfecting.

  • Age appropriate story books about germs, illness, and mask wearing for our children.

  • Frequent check ins with staff and additional resources for daily self care.
