Parent Resources

Parents are partners with our teachers, staff and the administration in the educational life of their child. Our MPS parents are the hub of our community, supporting their child’s Montessori journey in partnership with our teachers, promoting Mountain Pathways in the community, and serving on our Board.

Classroom Observations for Current Parents

Classroom Observations for Current Parents

We offering limited observation appointments each week and all observations must take place through the 2-way glass so parents are able to observe their child in their normal morning work cycle. Please review the Observation Guidelines prior to arrival.

Teacher Conferences

Teachers schedule periodic conferences with each child’s parents. We listen to parents, seek to understand their goals for their children, and are respectful of individual family issues. When the family works closely with the school faculty toward the realization of common goals for a particular child, academic performance benefits.

Family Handbook: The MPS School Manual

Our handbook has been developed to help you, as families, understand both what is expected of you and what you can expect from us in return. Our goal is an open and trustworthy community that models the respect and interdependence we hope to cultivate in our children.

Parent Volunteer Service

Mountain Pathways parents agree to provide 30 hours of volunteer service to the school as part of their yearly contract. This volunteer service to the school not only helps the school, but it also creates meaningful opportunities for parents to get to know one another. Parents choose to participate through a variety of channels: serving as a prearranged volunteer in the classroom; service to the school; sharing talents and skills such as art and music; tutoring; reading to classes; driving and chaperoning on field trips; and participating in fundraising activities.
