Volunteer with us!
Mountain Pathways has a rich culture of cooperative engagement that not only helps to keep our school running smoothly, but enriches and deepens our community. Our goal is to provide a variety of meaningful opportunities and, whenever possible, match families' interests, talents, and availability with the tasks and opportunities available at Mountain Pathways.
Each family commits to completing 32 hours of volunteer service as part of their yearly contract, divided into 8 hours per 3-month quarter. Any unfulfilled hours will be billed at $20/hour. This commitment can be fulfilled through a plethora of opportunities, linked below, or by paying in advance if that suits the family’s needs best.
We also offer volunteer opportunities to individuals in the area who do not have children at the school. Many Appalachian State students complete internships in the classrooms or in the afterschool program. All volunteers must submit to a criminal history check, and will be supervised by a member of the staff throughout their tenure with the school.

We expect mulch to be donated to the school within the next couple of weeks from Green Valley Arborists. At that time, we will need a few volunteers to spread it in the playground areas. We are going to have to be flexible around the weather and everyone's availability on this one. If you think this may be something you'd be interested in helping do, we will gather names and work with the group to figure out a potential time.

The Willow classroom has requested support in tidying up the outdoor play space. The main focus of this task is organizing toys that have been dispersed throughout the area (ex: putting sand toys back into the sand box, gathering other smaller toys that may have transferred from inside to outside unintentionally). In an ideal world we could have volunteers complete this task weekly but we are requesting monthly or every other week clean up. Clean up can be completed any time the students are not using the playground. You can sign up for this task with this link.
